When I moved to Whidbey Island, I fell in love with this place the way most people do — the water, the farms, the community, the pace of life. But when it came time to look for work, it was frustrating to comb through larger sites and watch opportunities get posted and quickly lost in the void of social media. And too often, the jobs I did find were ghost jobs — listings that looked promising but were no longer open, no longer accepting resumes.
Over the years, I've spent many hours on job boards — I understand the frustration, stress, and anxiety felt during the process. My hope for this site is to help you feel a little less lost at sea than you might on the big platforms.
Whidbey Island Jobs was created for the people who live here and the people who would l ike to move here. To connect our community. It's for the nurse, the teacher, the cook, the engineer — the people ready to trade their commute for more time to enjoy where they live. It's for the small business owner who wants to find good local people without the noise.
I am dedicated to posting current, scam-free job listings. If this site is embraced by our community, it will continue to grow — unique businesses and opportunities, success stories, and even small business ideas will find a home here. The jobs listed now are just a start.
This site is a first for me and I'm still learning — so please, tell me what you think and what you'd like to see here in the future. Reach me at hello@whidbeyislandjobs.com
Cheers, and I hope you find the job that best fits where you are on life's journey.
