Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD CAC eligibility
Minimum 2 years aviation forecast experience with DoD or government agency within the last 10 years required
Prior observation and forecaster certification with DoD, FAA or National Weather Service required
Must have completed DoD formal training for weather observing and forecasting — proof required
Visual acuity correctable to 20/20 required
Navy Flight Weather Briefer experience preferred
Active Navy CAC or security clearance within last 2 years preferred

Pay: $39.43/hr Observer rate | $46.34/hr Forecaster rate
$6.75/hr additional health and welfare benefit up to 40 hours/week
Night and Sunday differential compounded to base pay

About the Role RedTown Technical Services is looking for a certified Weather Forecaster and Observer to support operations at NAS Whidbey Island on a part-time rotating basis. You'll perform meteorological weather watch, take and disseminate surface weather observations, issue Terminal Aerodrome Forecasts, monitor radar and satellite imagery, issue weather warnings and advisories and provide DD-175-1 briefings. A specialized, high-responsibility role for an experienced aviation weather professional looking for part-time work on Whidbey Island.
