Structural Welder — Journeyman Nichols Bros. Boat Builders (Ice Floe LLC) | Full-Time | Permanent | On-Site

3+ years welding experience required
2-G, 3-G, 4-G ABS Steel certification required — or ability to obtain within 90 days
Able to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights up to 60 feet and enter confined spaces with respirator
Ability to read blueprints and work from technical drawings
Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
USCG or ABS welding certification preferred
Marine structural welding experience a plus

About the Role Nichols Bros. Boat Builders has been building vessels on Whidbey Island since 1964 — state-of-the-art tugs, ferries, fire boats, fishing vessels, barges and more. They're looking for an experienced Structural Welder to join their team in Freeland. You'll weld structural components of marine vessels including hulls, superstructures, masts, pilot houses and engine rooms — working across multiple alloys including aluminum, mild steel, stainless steel and copper nickel. Flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead welding with MIG, stick and sub-arc processes.
